Responsible Gaming at Winthere Casino
This page explains how we approach safer gambling, the limits and breaks you can set yourself in your account, and where to find free, confidential help in the UK. It also covers the steps we take to keep under-18s off the site.

Our commitment to you
Gambling is entertainment. It is not a way to make money, to cover a shortfall or to deal with stress. Most of our customers play for a small amount, for a short time, and stop when they planned to, and our job is to make that the easiest thing to do.
Before you deposit, decide two things: how much you are prepared to lose and how long you want to play for. Treat the amount in the same way as the cost of a night out or a cinema ticket. Once it has gone, the session is finished, whether or not you are ahead.
Chasing losses is the point at which play most often stops being entertainment. Depositing again straight after a losing session, raising your stakes to win money back, or playing longer than you meant to in order to break even are all signs that it is time to stop for the day.
- We treat safer gambling as part of the service, not an optional extra.
- We keep limits, breaks and self-exclusion in one place in your account, and we make them simple to switch on.
- We never encourage you to raise a limit, to cancel a break or to deposit more than you had planned.
- Our staff are trained to recognise signs of gambling harm and to respond to them.
- We stop sending marketing to customers who have taken a time-out or self-excluded.
18+ only
You must be 18 or over to open an account or to play any game on this site. We hold a gaming licence that requires us to confirm the age and identity of every customer, and we carry out those checks on each account.
The tools in your account and how to switch them on
Every tool below sits in the safer gambling area of your account settings. They are free, they take effect on the terms shown on screen when you confirm them, and using one has no effect on withdrawals of money you already hold with us.
Deposit limits
A deposit limit caps how much you can pay in over a day, a week or a month. You can hold limits for more than one period at the same time. A lower limit, or a new one, applies as soon as you confirm it. A request to raise or remove a limit is held for the cooling-off period shown in your account and then needs a second confirmation from you, so a decision made in the moment cannot take effect in the moment.
Loss and session limits
A loss limit caps the net amount you can lose in a set period, counting your stakes against your wins. A session limit caps how long a single sitting can last; when you reach it, play ends and you are signed out. Both are useful if your budget is clear but your sense of time at the screen is not.
Reality checks
A reality check interrupts play at an interval you choose and shows you how long you have been playing and how you stand for the session. You then decide whether to carry on or to close the game. It is a small prompt, and for many customers it is the most useful setting on the list.
Time-outs
A time-out is a short, fixed break. For the period you pick, you cannot deposit or play, your account reopens automatically at the end of it, and we will not market to you while it runs. A time-out cannot be lifted early, so choose a length you are comfortable with before you confirm.
Self-exclusion
Self-exclusion is a longer and firmer step. We close your account to deposits and play for the minimum period set out in the cashier, remove you from our marketing, and keep the exclusion in place after it expires until you contact us and complete the steps we explain at that point. You can withdraw any remaining balance in the usual way.
- Sign in and open your account settings.
- Go to the safer gambling section.
- Choose the tool you want, such as a deposit limit, a reality check or a time-out.
- Enter the amount, the period or the interval, and read the on-screen summary of when it starts and how it can be changed.
- Confirm. The setting is listed in your account, with the date it took effect.
If you cannot find a setting, or you want a limit applied straight away, use the live chat on site or e-mail support@casinowinthere.co.uk and our team will apply it for you.
Signs that gambling may be becoming a problem
Problem gambling develops gradually, and it is easier to spot in a list than in the moment. Go through the points below honestly and think about the last few months rather than the last few days.
- You play for longer or spend more than you intended, more often than not.
- You deposit again to win back money you have lost.
- You gamble with money set aside for rent, bills, food or debts, or you borrow to gamble.
- You hide how much you play, or how much you spend, from family or friends.
- You feel restless, low or irritable when you try to cut down or stop.
- You gamble to escape worry, boredom, loneliness or low mood.
- Work, study, sleep or relationships are suffering because of the time you spend playing.
- Someone close to you has raised concerns about your gambling.
If you recognise yourself in several of these, set a deposit limit or a time-out today and talk to one of the organisations below. None of this is a diagnosis, and support is free, confidential and available whether or not you think the problem is serious yet.
Where to get free, confidential help
These are independent UK services. They are not run by us, we cannot see that you have contacted them, and you do not need an account or a referral to use them.
- GambleAware funds and signposts free treatment and advice across Great Britain, with self-assessment and information for anyone worried about their own gambling or someone else's.
- GamCare provides free counselling, treatment and group support for people affected by gambling harm, including family members and friends.
- GamStop is the free national self-exclusion scheme for online gambling in Great Britain: one registration blocks you from the sites of every licensed operator, including ours, for the period you choose.
- The National Gambling Helpline offers confidential advice and support by phone and live chat, at any hour of the day, for anyone affected by gambling.
Registering with GamStop works alongside, not instead of, the tools in your account. We would also suggest speaking to your bank about gambling blocks on your cards, and looking at blocking software that prevents gambling sites from opening on your devices.
Talking to us
If you would like your account closed, a limit set or a break put in place, contact us on live chat or at support@casinowinthere.co.uk. We will act on the request rather than try to talk you out of it.
Protecting children and young people
It is an offence for anyone under 18 to gamble, and underage play is one of the harms we work hardest to prevent. Accounts are checked for age and identity, and we may ask for documents at any time; where we cannot confirm that a customer is 18 or over, we suspend the account and return any deposits. Stakes placed by an under-18 are void and winnings are not paid.
Most underage gambling happens on an adult's account, on an adult's device, with an adult's card. A few habits make that much harder:
- Keep your username, password and payment details to yourself, and do not let anyone else use your account.
- Sign out fully when you finish, especially on a shared computer, tablet or phone.
- Do not save card details or let a browser remember your password on a device children use.
- Lock your devices with a passcode, PIN or biometric lock.
- Install parental control or site-filtering software that blocks gambling sites, and set up the content controls built into your devices, your browser and your home network.
If you think a child has used your account or gambled on this site, contact us immediately on live chat or at support@casinowinthere.co.uk so that we can secure the account and look into what happened.
